Matt and Cheryl Hollis are both proud natives of Birmingham, Alabama.
I grew up in a deacon’s home where my family and I faithfully attended Forestdale Free Will Baptist Church.  At the age of 6 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior.  During a teen summer Bible Camp in 1996, I answered the Lord’s call to preach the Gospel.   Immediately, my home church and mentoring Pastor, Jack Rollins began allowing opportunities for me to minister.

I had the privilege of serving in a variety of different positions at my home church and others including teaching Children’s Church, Sunday School and Youth Pastor.

In 2002 I was called to be the Assistant Pastor at Green Pond Baptist Church.  There, I served under Pastor Carl Hall for eight years until being called to become Pastor at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church in Gardendale, Alabama.

In December 2012, my family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and quickly made Victory Baptist Church our new home.

After graduating high school in 2002 I met the former Cheryl McGavock through a friend in my home church.  Cheryl attended Green Pond Baptist Church where her dad was also a deacon and where we would begin our relationship by serving the Lord together.

Cheryl and I were married in 2006.  The Lord has blessed us with two beautiful daughters, Carly Maxine (2011) and Kylie Rollins (2013).  We are so thankful for the Lord allowing us to serve at Victory and appreciate the opportunity to minister alongside all the great folks here.
